About The Store Manager
My name is JR Grubert, and I am the Store Manager at the South Swell in Lake Forest, California. With my family roots being from Long Island, it was only natural I picked up a stick. I started playing lacrosse relatively late in my life during the my sophomore year of high school, but having a background from the East Coast and a father who is a 3x All American and Hall of Famer, it was only natural to get a stick in my hands. In high school I played Long Stick and Short Stick Midfield. I started the program at Santa Margarita Catholic High School and it has continued to flourish and is now one of the power house programs in Orange County.
Originally recruited by Chapman Universityís lacrosse program, I decided to go to Cal State Fullerton, not knowing they had a lacrosse team. While at Cal State Fullerton my coaches moved me from LSM to Attack where I started every year. I was a team captain my junior and senior year and helped lead the team to 3 straight SLC Conference Championships. We never had any success in the MCLA tournament, but the winning tradition at CSUF has continued even after my departure.
