South Swell Lacrosse :: Testimonials

Sometimes it can be tough choosing which equipment is right for you. So we asked some of our favorite college coaches which items they would recommend.

Helmet: Cascade Pro7 -This bucket is the cat's pajamas for sure - Great vision, super comfortable and very stylish. This lid has an adjustment system that fits young and all with any amount of flowitude.  Worn by the best in the game.

Head: Warrior RazerX- This is by far the most supreme head on the market.  It slices, it dices, it chops, it picks corners.  Strings up one of the best pockets in the world of lax, and is no stranger to finding the back of the net.  Also with its flat scoop it's a hoover on Groundballs.  LeGit.

Handle: Warrior Titan Pro - This old school gem is still one of the best in the game when it comes to what's important.  Light and strong, with a touch of class, and none of the fancy colors that kids seem to like so much these days.

Glove: STX K18 -Uncle Kyle has done it again. His new glove fits, well, like a glove. Built with NASA d3o technology, it keeps you hand safe on any lax field.  Also, it has better moisture wicking material than the Shamwow, and is more comfortable than a snuggie.

Arm guard: STX Cell D Pad - Whether you're a meat head defender, or just want to look like one, the D Pad is the arm protector of choice.  Covering just the elbow nubs, it doesn't get in the way when you are carving up an attackman, or ripping rope.

Cleat: Nike Air Huarache - In this game, speed kills. If you are like me and don't have any speed, then it helps to look the part, and the Huarache is just the shoe.  Nice and light, and you can even insert your own personal color on the toe strap.  Get the limited edition checker boards if you can, they are hot.

Helmet: Cascade Pro7 - It has a great custom fitting system. It's the best looking helmet on the market and has tons of decal options for customization.

Head: STX Eclipse goalie head - This is a light but strong goalie head. It also has great balance for cradling and passing.

Handle: Reebok Carbon Fuse shafts - The carbon fuse shafts are strong and light. On top of performance you can choose what grip fits your game.

Glove: 2010 K18 - The new K18 uses d3o technology that adds comfort and protection. The new palm allows for a better grip on the handle.

Arm guard: STX Cell armguard - The Cell is lightweight and comfortable but has great protection with its isoBLOX technology.

Cleat: Nike Speedlax Plus - This is a classic mid-top cleat that performs well. It also has a great price tag.

Shoulder pad: 2010 K18 - Like the glove the new K18 shoulder pad uses d3o technology which makes the pad light weight but very protective. The shoulder pads fits snug to the body allowing for great range of motion.

Goggles: STX 4Sight Goggles - These goggles offer the best balance of protection and comfort that you could ask from a goggle. The material doesn't slip while you sweat which helps you focus on your game instead of worrying about your equipment failing on you. For enhanced comfort, I recommend the STX 4Sight Pro Titanium. You won't even feel the goggles on your face.

Head: STX Rave - For the latest and greatest head for all levels of play and all positions I would recommend the new STX Rave, especially the new silver color.  Greatest features of this head: versatile pocket.  The ball can sit on the ball stop for max control when thinking about your next pass or move, and it can also sit comfortably and high on the new "Runway pocket" which engulfs the lax ball for continued max control.

Handle: The Flex 10 Degree- This handle has a larger diameter with the "tear drop" shape for a different kind of feel. If you like a skinnier and lighter shaft I recommend the STX Slant 10 degree. Both shafts have a rubberized coating so you can avoid adding weight to your stick with tape.

Additional Testimonial: Remember that 10 minutes a day on wall ball makes all the difference.  Also, be sure to know how to properly maintain the stringing in your stick. Any questions, visit your local South Swell.
